Laurel’s seafood game runs deeper than most people give it credit for, and I’ve got the grease-stained napkins to prove it. You don’t need to drive to the Bay when you can hit everything from Cameron’s no-frills carryout counter, where the coleslaw actually tastes like something, to Red Crab House, where the weekend DJ turns a crab boil into a block party.

I ate my way through raw oysters, lobster fried rice, and a crab cake that held together without a single crumb of filler, and I’m still full. Here’s the shortlist, ranked from party platters to plastic forks.

Fresh raw oysters daily
Blackened fish and grits
Lump crab balls golden
Attentive staff, fast service
Generous soul food portions

Mid Atlantic Seafood is the kind of place that fills you up and wins you over. I started with the fresh raw oysters, and they arrived cool, briny, and clearly shucked that morning. The blackened fish and grits came next, and the spice level hit just right against the creamy grits. Then I tried the lump crab balls. Golden, crisp outside, sweet crab within. The staff moved fast, refilling drinks without hovering. Portions are soul food sized, so come hungry or plan to share. This is a straightforward, dependable spot. I left full, satisfied, and already thinking about my next visit.

Generous seafood portions
Lively weekend DJ nights
Friendly, attentive staff
Classic seafood boil charm

Red Crab House feels like a party that happens to serve excellent seafood. I walked in on a weekend and the DJ had the room buzzing, but the food never played second fiddle. The Cajun wings alone are worth the drive. They come sticky, spicy, and smoky. My seafood boil was generous, packed with shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes in a classic garlic butter. The staff stayed friendly and attentive even as the crowd grew. It is loud, lively, and a little messy. That is the charm. If you want a quiet, fussy dinner, look elsewhere. If you want good food and good energy, this is your spot.

House spread seasoning is killer
Impeccable service on arrival
Crab boil worth the mess
Lobster fried rice delivers perfectly

Cajun Seafood Boil got me from the second I walked in. The service was immediate, no standing around wondering who would help me. I ordered the crab boil and the lobster fried rice. The boil was a glorious mess. The house spread seasoning is killer, sharp with garlic and cayenne, clinging to every piece of crab. The fried rice arrived hot, with chunks of lobster that actually tasted like lobster. It all felt deliberate. The staff checked in at the right moments. This is a place that understands its craft. I left with stained fingers and a clear opinion. I will be back.

Lobster roll earns praise
Pleasant, welcoming dining room
Local Maple Lawn favorite

Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grill sits in Maple Lawn and feels like a place you could bring anyone. The dining room is pleasant, warm, and welcoming. I ordered the calamari and the grilled oysters first. Both shone. The calamari was tender, not rubbery, with a light crunch. The oysters had a char that brought out their sweetness. Then came the tuna nachos. Those were the surprise winner. Crisp wontons, seared tuna, creamy sauce, a little heat. The lobster roll earned its praise too, buttered and generous. Service was polished but not stiff. This is a reliable, comfortable spot for a proper seafood meal.

Crab bites and crafted drinks
Magnificent lamb chops
Filling crab cakes, no filler
Bold curry fried rice
Beautiful space, friendly service

Blue Sunday Bar & Grill is a beautiful space that backs up its looks. I started with crab bites and a crafted drink, and both landed well. The crab bites were mostly crab, not filler. Then I moved to the crab cakes. They were filling, dense, and clean tasting, with no breadcrumbs hiding the meat. The curry fried rice was bold, a little spicy, and surprisingly good as a side. But the real shocker was the lamb chops. Magnificent, pink inside, with a crust that snapped. The service stayed friendly throughout. This place does more than seafood well. It does everything well.

Fresh cut fries hit right
Deviled eggs worth grabbing
Pickup-style, simple, and cool

Casey's Crab Company is pickup style, simple, and cool. No fuss, no linen napkins. That is fine by me. I grabbed the crab cakes first. They are 100% legit. Big lumps, minimal binder, a good sear. Then I tried the crab cheesesteak. I would give it an eight out of ten. The roll held up, the cheese was melty, and the crab was generous. The fresh cut fries hit right, salty and crisp. Even the deviled eggs were worth grabbing, creamy with a little tang. This is a no nonsense spot that respects the crab. I appreciated the lack of pretense and the full stomach.

Savory grilled cheese and soup combo
Creative, delicious specialty martinis
Well-portioned desserts with rich flavor

Lib's Grill Maple Lawn delivered on every front. The service was attentive and welcoming from start to finish, the kind of staff that makes you feel like a regular. I ordered the wings first. Flavor packed, crispy, and saucy, the kind you think about later. Then the grilled cheese and soup combo. The sandwich was buttery and golden, the soup savory and deep. A specialty martini came highly recommended, and it was creative, not just sweet. Dessert finished strong, well portioned and rich. Nothing slipped. This place is consistent and comfortable. I left with a full belly and a good mood.

Highlights
Great crab legs seasoning
Just okay overall food
Poor service experiences
Empty, lifeless atmosphere
Skip this seafood spot

Crab & Chicken misses the mark. I went in hoping for a decent meal, but the atmosphere was empty and lifeless. The crab legs had a decent seasoning, sure, but that was the only bright spot. The rest of the food was just okay. Service was poor. I had to flag someone down for a drink refill, and even then it took a while. The space felt like it had given up. I wanted to like it. I really did. But there are too many better options in Laurel. Skip this spot. Spend your money where the staff seems happy to see you.

Friday: 10:30 AM–9 PM
Saturday: 10:30 AM–9 PM
Highlights
Quick service, friendly staff
Good coleslaw sides
Strictly carryout fish market

Cameron's Seafood is strictly carryout, a fish market that does not pretend to be a restaurant. That is fine. I ordered and the service was quick, with a friendly staff that knows the product. The coleslaw was a standout side, creamy, tangy, and fresh. The seafood itself was properly handled, fresh and well prepared for takeout. It is not a place to linger. You get your food and you go. That simplicity works. If you want a fast, reliable seafood meal without the fuss, this is a solid choice. I would come back for the slaw alone.

Friendly service from Danny
Consistently delicious family meals
Generous portions for everyone
A repeat-worthy local spot

Seafood World has earned a repeat from me. Danny, who runs the counter, treats every customer like a neighbor. The service is genuinely friendly, no fake smile. I ordered the family meal and it was consistently delicious. The portions were generous, enough for two meals. The shrimp were plump, the fish was flaky, and the sides had real flavor. This is a local spot that does not try to be anything fancy. It just delivers good food, over and over. If you want consistency and warmth, put Seafood World on your list.
